Shockingly 50% of people turn to food for comfort after a break. It is understandable that when you feel weak chomping your way through chocolate bars, ice cream and chips seems like a good idea, but it really is not! It can only lead to more depression and anxiety not only about your recent separation, but your waist line now booming. If you want to come back with your ex, you need to look your best and feel your most confident. Then you will be a sexy, sassy individual that everyone wants to be with, and believe me your ex will notice the new, more attractive and you wonder why you separated in the first place!
So back to the here and now, and how to avoid junk food in the fridge calling ….
1. Visit a friend – It is so important to be surrounded by friends and family at this time, try to talk and release repressed emotions. As the saying goes, that’s what friends are for!
2. Exercise. This should not be boring! Do something you enjoy.
3. If you end up with a free evening, have a luxurious bathroom. Get out the candles, some scented oils and really take care of you. A nice relaxing soak is good for your body and your well-being. Also, it is too much effort to go out and raid the closets!
4. Do not drink alcohol to excess, and try to avoid it if possible. Alcohol is a depressant that you do not need now and turns into sugar in the body, making it extremely fattening. It also makes you think that calling your ex at 2am and plead with them is a good idea, what is not!
5. Join a group of weight loss. If you feel you have excess weight loss is a great time to sign up for a group of diet. Make new friends and your new goal will take your mind off your ex.
Use this time to focus on you and your hopes and dreams. The majority of depression stems from a sense of loss of control of a situation, so start making decisions to take this control in your life. You can just see that the new dynamics, you not only attract your ex back, but other, more as partners, and then you have to choose!
